Understanding Is The First Step Towards Change

ShelterCare is currently booking speaking engagements with groups in the Eugene / Springfield area or the outlying Lane County areas. We would be happy to speak to your group about issues pertaining to homelessness, mental illness, or acquired brain injuries for 10 to 45 minutes. Invite us to your:
           - Community group
           - Service group meeting
           - Neighborhood watch group
           - Business
           - Church Group
           - Bridge Club

Any collection of people that want to learn about homelessness, the stigmas surrounding it, or how to help.

The goal of our Speaker’s Bureau is strictly to educate the community about the challenges our community faces and the populations that our organization serves. We are happy to answer questions, respond to concerns, break down misconceptions, or just tell some inspirational stories. We also want to hear what YOU have to say about those that we serve. Understanding your views about homelessness is important to the work that we do. The Holidays
With warm and sunny weather in the valley the holidays ahead are probably the last thing on your mind, but here at ShelterCare September is a crucial month for making the holidays a special time of the year for our clients. We understand how hard these economic times are for everyone, but just think about how tough they are for our clients, many of whom live on startlingly small budgets. Few of them have family to turn to for help. We are currently looking for groups to sponsor our programs for the holidays. Sponsorship typically includes providing small gifts and provisions for a holiday meal for the program of your choice. Call or email Carla DeVore at cdevore@sheltercare.org to get more information.

Roundtables
Each month ShelterCare hosts a discussion with community members and key members of our administrative team. The aim of the meeting is garnish thoughts and ideas from those attending to help make a difference for those that we serve. Attendance is by invitation only, but feel free to contact us if any of the future topics listed below sound appealing to you. Contact Brad or Carla for additional information.
