Peer Advocate (Rent Assistance)

Peer Advocate (Rent Assistance) – Provide an array of peer-based therapeutic supports to mental health consumers living in supportive housing.  The Peer Advocate position will be designed to fit the unique skills of the advocate in the areas of peer counseling, structured recreation, outreach support and being part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Requires familiarity & experience as a consumer with mental health services. Experience with a mental health advocacy group or as a peer counselor preferred. Two positions at  .50 FTE  20 hrs/week each,  Shift TBD and may include weekends, evenings and holidays. $12.12 hr.

Residential Specialist (Rent Assistance)  – Work with residential program participants of ShelterCare Supported Housing to secure appropriate housing.  Build relationships with local landlords to locate to locate appropriate clustered housing that is affordable to participants in the supported housing program.  Provide group instruction for participants on issues related to housing.  P/T, 20hrs/week, $14.50/hr.

Administrative Receptionist – Primary duties include greeting clients, answering multi-line phones, assisting administrative staff with filing and other projects, inventory and stocking display materials and ordering supplies.  Requires related office experience including computer proficiency, excellent communication and organizational skills.  Ability to lift 35 lbs. Experience in Social Services or Human Services with some experience serving adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses preferred. Termporary Certified Medical Assistant (Heeran Center)

Temporary Certified Medical Assistant – Administer resident medications as ordered in a secure mental health residential facility, order medication refills and take vital signs. Certification as a Medical Assistant required. Basic computer skills needed. Must be capable of performing physical tasks that involve pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and standing, sitting and lifting up to 20 lbs on a regular basis. Other physical tasks include reaching above shoulders, fine manipulation, grasping, keyboarding, kneeling and reaching out. Limited duration assignment expected for approximately three months. Schedule to be determined and may vary 35 to 40 hours per week; must be available for all shifts. 10.75/hr.

Housing Specialist – Work with residential mental health and TBI clients and staff to secure and maintain  appropriate housing. Develop housing care plan for clients and manage all landlord/tenant responsibilities for ShelterCare programs. Maintains high level or confidentiality and data organization. Requires professional experience with landlord/tenant issues and excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.  Previous property management experience required; preferably HUD property management.  F/T,  Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. $14.50/hr + benefits.
